Today's luxury watch theme is "titanium watches." Tim Mosso and Brian Govberg each select three of their favorite titanium watches from three legendary watch brands. Sports watches, dress watches, simple watches, and complicated watch models are on today's table.
Tim's three selections reflect his tastes for traditional watchmaking manufactures and modern independent horology.
The Zenith Defy El Primero 21 with the rare "panda" dial is the rarest version of Zenith's signature chronograph, and this example is Tim's favorite from among the ever expanding list of Defy El Primero variants. The Jaeger LeCoultre Amvox 2 chronograph is a 750-piece limited edition based on the longtime partnership between Aston Martin cars and Jaeger automotive instruments; a pusherless chronograph system allows the owner to stop, start, and reset the stopwatch using only finger pressure on the crystal. Finally, the De Bethune DB25 Starry Varius "Govberg edition" is a 5-piece limited series in grade five titanium. This 42m masterpiece from Denis Flageollet includes a fired blue titanium dial that depicts the Milky Way atop an artisanal movement with six days of power reserve.
Brian's selection includes three titanium watches from out inventory as well as his rare first-generation Breitling Aerospace digital pilot's watch. An FP Journe Octa Sport in titanium showcases the discontinued 42mm Octa Sport case alongside the all-aluminum automatic caliber 1300. A Girard Perregaux WW.TC world time chronograph represents a rare sporty departure for a model line generally composed of dress watches; this one also features an integrated factory bracelet in matching titanium. Finally, the stunning Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic dazzles with its 3.9mm thick case, 1.95mm thick tourbillon caliber with peripheral rotor, and the glittering flying tourbillon regulator that adorns its dial.
