The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Number Two Tourbillon Limited Edition Q2176440 is a 2003 model year limited edition of 500 pieces. Each example features a platinum case surrounding a caliber 848 tourbillon movement with bridges and plates constructed from 18-karat white gold. The dial is composed of 18-karat white gold with a ruthenium coating and Breguet Arabic numerals painted by hand in sterling silver-based paint.
The tourbillon caliber 848 is a manual wind movement with a 45-hour power reserve and a beat rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. This movement is sized and shaped specifically for the Reverso Grande Taille case, and all decoration is applied by hand. A free sprung balance, overcoil hairspring, and six-position adjustment complete the mechanical refinements.
The design of the train and tourbillon bridges of the caliber 848 are inspired by the late 1940s Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 170 tourbillon built for chronometry competition. A rotating Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso case permits rapid transition from dial to caliber and back.
This platinum Reverso Toubillon features a 26mm x 42mm platinum case surrounding a grey dial on a brand new navy blue alligator strap with a platinum deployant buckle. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, tourbillon and power reserve indicator. The watch also measures mm in thickness and mm from lug-to-lug.
