This week, Mike weaves in his lifelong passion for watchmaking and admiration for the work of Mr. Philippe Dufour alongside the weekly inventory highlights and watches that are on our radar.
Among the stand-out pieces that came across the trading floor this week were the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph (26470BA) in yellow gold with a spectacular blue dial and its polar opposite; the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5320G, with a cream-colored lacquered dial that is inherently modern with a vintage flair. And another yellow gold chronograph made the cut this week, as Mike shone a spotlight on a previous generation Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph.
As many of you know, “watches” represent much more than a “job” to Mike. He admires the art of watchmaking, its history, and the ties to his father who was a watchmaker. So, when a Philippe Dufour Simplicity arrived at WatchBox, it was more than just another watch. Mike recalls sitting down with Mr. Dufour during Dubai Watch Week last year, and just how poignant that experience was.
In closing, Mike highlights several models WatchBox is looking to acquire for inventory, including Omega Speedmaster Racing Chronographs, the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph Ref. 3940, and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 152020. Contact one of our client advisors [[email protected]] to talk about the process of selling your watch to WatchBox – whether you have one of these models or another timepiece you wish to sell or trade.
