No luxury watch launched at Basleworld 2018 can match the drama of the 2018 Glashutte Original Vintage Sixties 1 39 52 03 02 04 automatic with green degrade dial.
The green dial is produced at Glashutte Original's Pforzheim dial manufacture, and it involves multiple steps to realize. Each dial starts as a metal blank that is stamped with a 60-ton press; later several layers of green and black lacquer are applied by hand. In order to produce the gradient effect that fades from bright green to black, artisans use different blends of lacquer to produce an even progression; no two dials of this Vintage Sixties series are identical.
Insider the 39mm stainless steel case, the Glashutte Original in-house caliber GUB 39-52 winds automatically and boasts a 40-hour power reserve. A 28,800 vibration per hour beat rate and stop seconds (hacking) ensures consistent timekeeping and facilitates precise setting. The movement is decorated with stripes, blued screws, and black polished swan's neck regulator.
The 2018 Glashutte Original Vintage Sixties is encased in stainless steel surrounding a green degrade dial on a black leather strap. Functions include hours, minutes, and seconds. The watch measures 39mm in diameter, 9.4mm in thickness, and 45.2mm from lug-to-lug.
