Watches Tonight with Tim Mosso

Tim Mosso has returned from Watches and Wonders 2025, and he's playing favorites. While the majority of the attention went to the Rolex Land Dweller, Tim highlighted his favorites from Patek Philippe, Cartier, and independent watchmakers. This episode contains a list of Tim's favorite 2025 watches.
The 2025 Cartier Tank à Guichets marks the return of a Cartier classic for the first time since 2005. Originally designed in 1928 for the fast-paced lifestyle of the automotive age, the Tank à Guichets jump hour displays time with digital scales. In rose gold, yellow gold, and platinum, the new Tank à Guichets is a manual wind mechanical watch that reverts to the 1928 original's bullhead winding system. With a 42-hour power reserve, the Cartier Tank à Guichets costs $47,700 in gold, $55,000 in platinum series production, and $61,000 as the 200-piece "oblique" Tank à Guichets limited edition.
Patek Philippe rolled into Geneva with a new 40mm Cubitus, but the 6159G perpetual calendar stole Tim's heart. With a 39.5mm white gold case and hobnail bezel, there's nothing revolutionary about the package, but this Patek Philippe retrograde perpetual calendar puts its mechanical brain on display beneath a smoked sapphire dial. At $117,840, the Patek Philippe 6159G isn't cheap, but it's far less expensive than seeking the same smoked sapphire dial effect on the $987,460 Patek Philippe 5316/50P.
Patek Philippe's Complicated Desk Clock 27000M may have been the star of Watches & Wonders 2025. Crafted from sterling silver and gilded with vermeil, the Complicated Desk Clock groans with riches thanks to a green enamel layer over guilloche engine turning. The 31-day power reserve is wound by a key, and the perpetual calendar system includes a weekly calendar. The clock face opens to reveal the key slots and setting system, and wood inlays add decadence to an already rich offering. For good measure, this $1,178,350 desk clock includes deadbeat seconds.
