Geneva Watch Days 2021 is upon us, and new watches have been released by Bulgari, Doxa, H. Moser & Cie, Czapek, and Greubel Forsey. With no Baselworld or SIHH on the calendar for the year, Geneva Watch Days has become a major event for watch collectors and watchmakers looking to capitalize on the publicity of a high-profile watch show. While not strictly a show like SIHH -- the GWD showrooms are scattered across the city -- the Watch Days constitute the largest new model event for luxury watches until Dubai Watch Week in November. Without a doubt, the biggest new watch model debut of day one is the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner

H. Moser & Cie launched the Streamliner collection of integrated bracelet sports watches in 2020. First the Flyback Chronograph and then the Centre Seconds model fleshed out a Moser sports watch collection previously consisting only of the Pioneer models. The 2021 Streamliner Perpetual Calendar takes the signature Moser perpetual calendar system and combines it with the 42.3mm stainless steel case shared between the Streamliner Perpetual Calendar and the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph. All Streamliner models include 120-meter water resistance.

The 2021 Streamliner Perpetual Calendar employs a refined version of Andreas Strehler's perpetual calendar system. A date window and a central month index indicate the current state of the calendar, and a caseback leapyear phase indicator keeps track of the four-year cycle. H. Moser & Cie. offers one of only a handful of perpetual calendars that can be set in both directions and safely adjusted at any time of day. The new H. Moser & Cie. caliber 341 includes a manual-wind power reserve of seven days, and the architecture of the movement's bridges has been altered to better display the drivetrain.

For the first time on a Moser perpetual calendar watch, a center seconds hand animates the dial. Thoughtful details include a subtly engraved Moser dial signature, a fume fade from grey to anthracite, and a "racing dial" outer track for reading the seconds. For good measure the current date digit is luminescent for viewing at night.

Also launched on the first day of 2021 Geneva Watch Days, the Czapek Antarctique Rattrapante chronograph expands the options for watch collectors seeking complicated steel sports watches. Only 77 pieces of the Antarctique Rattrapante will be offered starting on September 2, and the watches will be offered via a subscription process from Czapek. This 42.5mm stainless steel sports watch is water resistant to an impressive 120 meters

The Antarctique Rattrapante is a split seconds chronograph with a traditional lateral clutch and two column wheels for chronograph operation. The automatic SXH6 movement was designed in collaboration with Chronode, and it includes a combination of attractive architecture and fine finish. The clutch, both column wheels, and the chronograph structures are located on the openworked dial of the Antarctique Rattrapante, so all of the most appealing features of the movement can be viewed without removing the watch from one's wrist. Luminescent hands and indices ensure that this sports watch can be read at night.

Other new watches launched at Geneva Watch Days 2021 include the final version of the Greubel Forsey GMT Earth, the Bulgari Octo Roma World Timer, the Bulgari Octo Roma Papillon Central Tourbillon, the Gerald Genta Arena Retro Mickey Mouse Disney, the Doxa Sub 600T Pacific Blue, the Oris Aquis Date Upcycle
