“How Sustainable Are Watch Prices?” And More Viewer Questions
Market Wrap with Mike Manjos

This week on Market Wrap, Mike returns to some of the watches he highlighted last week to see how they performed at the Sotheby’s auction and takes viewer questions. As usual though, he starts us off with a selection of watches we brought in this week. They include the Patek Philippe Complications Annual Calendar (5035G), a Panerai Radiomir with diamond indices and bezel, and the A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph.
The main story of the episode is discussing the Sotheby’s auction that happened earlier this week. Mike was hoping to see the Vacheron Constantin Perpetual Calendar sell above price estimates but it was shown there’s still room for the brand to grow on the secondary market. Meanwhile, the slate of F.P. Journe watches continue to flex their value as the Tokyo Centigraphe and Octa UTC went above estimates and the Souscription Tourbillon for $2 million.
Finally, Mike takes on viewer questions to end the show. He highlights some Vacheron Constantin, Patek Philippe, and Franck Muller watches where he sees value. He also discusses the idea of when there will be a downturn in the watch market along with the source of industry change.
