Zenith Pilot Type 20 Annual Calendar 87.2430.4054/21.C721 features the rich character of rose gold in tandem with the burnished gray lightness of milled titanium in a 48mm case inspired by Zenith's first aviator's watch launched in 1909. The dial boasts massive cathedral hands and vintage font Arabic numerals to recreate the character of the experimental Zenith Pilot's Special worn by Louis Bleriot during his pioneering 1909 flight across the English channel. The case back features an embossed image of Bleriot in his monoplane set beneath a period-inspired Zenith company logo. The El Primero caliber 4054's functions include an annual calendar, chronograph, automatic winding, and the signature ten beat per second "heartbeat" of Zenith's legendary movement. The annual calendar is controlled by a magnificent 12mm diameter onion-style crown and the entire mechanism, which includes only nine parts, is a masterpiece designed by Ulysse Nardin's watchmaking visionary Ludwig Oechslin in special collaboration with Zenith.
