Tim Mosso and Brian Govberg return with high-flying luxury pilots' watches for every watch collection and watch collector. Aviation wristwatches date back as far as the 1904 Cartier Santos, but today's assortment focuses on the 1950s to the present day. IWC, Rolex, Glashutte Original, and Breitling are on the table as we talk timepieces for aviators and armchair aviators.
Brian's collection is headlined by a spectacular Glashutte Original Senator Navigator Perpetual Calendar. This 44mm stainless steel complication proves that B-Uhr tribute watches can aspire to the highest reaches of high horology. A classic Breitling Navitimer with the in-house B01 chronograph caliber provides a representative of the famed circular slide rule flight calculator first introduced in 1954. Finally, a hardcore B-Uhr tribute, the IWC Big Pilot's Watch 5009 "father," showcases the most recognizable IWC wristwatch of the modern era.
Tim's selection includes a time-only version of the Glashutte Original Senator Navigator. This model is the most faithful B-Uhr tribute of the day thanks to the desirable "B dial" configuration with minutes on the outer scale and hours on the inboard scale. An IWC Pilot's Watch "Doppelchronograph" 3711 in yellow gold provides an emerging vintage watch option for those with a taste for innovative mechanics and authentic tritium dials. Finally, a Rolex GMT-Master II 116713 "two-tone" showcases the most famous pilot's watch from watchmaking's most famous brand.
