The 2023 Audemars Piguet watches are here and read for sale! Well, maybe. Many of the new AP watches are available only at Audemars Piguet factory boutiques and AP Houses. And you probably can't get any of the best watches unless you're VIP client of Audemars Piguet. And some of these 2023 AP watches are limited production models. Plus, there are waiting lists. But other than that, the 2023 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Code 11.59 collections are ready for your wrist!
For once, the entire Audemars Piguet new model year isn't dominated by the AP Royal Oak. The controversial Code 11.59 dress watch gains a monstrous flagship in the form of the Code 11.59 Automatic Universelle. Inspired by a 1899 Audemars Piguet grande complication pocket watch, the Code 11.59 Universelle is a 42mm "ultra complication" with a perpetual calendar, a flying tourbillon, a minute repeater, a grande et petite sonnerie, and chronograph that includes both flyback and split-seconds action. Even better, the entire package is only 42mm in diameter, includes a hunter caseback, and features automatic winding for convenience.
Only seven examples of this watch will be produced in 2023, but the fortunate few buyers do have options. Both rose and white gold cases are offered. The dials can be ordered in beige or black. And for those willing to spend more to get less, a full openworked dial is available. The solid dial 11.59 Universelle costs CHF 1.45 milion and the openworked model costs CHF 1.6 million. That's roughly $1,561,000 and $1,723,000, respectively.
Code 11.59 enthusiasts with merely wealthy bank balances will appreciate the new line of stainless steel Code 11.59 watches. Automatic and chronograph models now offer 41mm stainless steel cases. Stamped guilloche dials in green, blue, and smoked beige can be specified. Both self-winding and chronograph models specified with the smoked beige dial come equipped with ceramic mid-cases for color and material contrast.
2023 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak buyers will find plenty of options to dissipate assets in the AP factory boutique. A new Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT comes in a 43mm titanium case. It's equipped with a chronograph that includes rattapante and flyback operation. When traveling, this CHF 170,000 complicated chronograph packs a GMT function and water resistance to survive a fall off of your yacht during the Monaco Grand Prix.
The 2023 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore collection includes something for everyone. A 42mm full-ceramic Royal Oak Offshore Black Ceramic lives up to its name. In addition to being the first of its kind, the new Royal Oak Offshore 26238 revives the dial design of the original 1993 Royal Oak Offshore. A 43mm Royal Oak Offshore 30th Anniversary model combines yellow gold and black ceramic in an opulent salute to 30 years of the original oversized luxury sports watch. Finally, a 43m titanium and ceramic Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph will provide 100 fortunate buyers with the opportunity to spend $307,000 on the ultimate Miami Beach flex watch.
Traditional AP Royal Oaks also receive their due. First, a new Royal Oak Jumbo with white gold case and grained dial develops the new reference 16202 launched in 2022. The blue grained dial recalls the same hammered treatment featured on the 1992 Royal Oak 14802 platinum limited edition - of which only 20 pieces were made. Fans of yellow gold and turquoise will find a Rolex-inspired rival in the Audemars Piguet collection in 2023. The 37mm Royal Oak "turquoise" dial offers a blazingly bright combination of yellow gold case and turquoise-stone dial for watch collectors who never warmed up to the Rolex Day-Date of the same description.
