Mike is back in the studio this time around for another episode of Market Wrap tackling the question: how much runway does this watch market have? Before he dives in with his opinion, however, he turns his focus to vintage watches and some of his favorite examples in our vault. He first starts out with a vintage LeCoultre Calendar Chronograph and early De Bethune example with the DB15. The highlight though is the Patek Philippe 3971G, a short-lived model with exquisite watchmaking on display.
The main story of the day focuses on the watch market we all find ourselves in. The industry has seen escalating prices in Rolex and Patek Philippe core models along with insane demand for pieces from F.P. Journe. It's not just the major players though with smaller independent watchmakers also getting a boost in interest over the last couple of years. Mike speculates as to what changes we'll see, where we can expect to see production spikes, and how long he thinks this can keep going.
