Welcome to the premiere of WatchBox’s new show: Mayer Time! Host George Mayer looks to pull back the curtain on the sort of conversations he has with brand representatives, industry professionals, and collectors. For our first episode, he sits down with H. Moser & Cie CEO Edouard Meylan and Super Bowl champion Mitchell Schwartz.
The trio cover a wide range of topics from what goes into designing a watch to how the rising advent of “hype” watches shapes collectors’ habits. Both guests come to the show with a plethora of watches to discuss, such as the new Streamliner and an H. Moser & Cie Minute Repeater from the brand. Mitch also shows off his collection which include an F.P. Journe Centigraphe, Rolex Yacht-Master II, A. Lange & Sohne Zeitwerk, and the De Bethune DB27 Titan Hawk.
Finally the group has a more generalized conversation regarding collectors’ habits and the rising value of watches on the pre-owned market. They speculate as to what the rising valuation of certain models means for the rest of the industry and the future of independent watchmakers.
Make sure to tune in to the brand new series for the full conversation and don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
