Tim Mosso doesn't focus often on his current watch collection, but tonight, it's the main event. In this show, Tim reviews all of the watches in his current collection from his high school graduation Omega Seamaster to his recent "grail watch," the De Bethune DBD. From Swatch watches to pocket watches, this is one eclectic collection of American, Swiss, French, British, and even Chinese watches.
The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M is a legend, and Tim understood this early in life. While his original high school fascination was the Rolex Submariner, the price of the Rolex Sub and Rolex bracelet construction in the early 2000s inspired Tim to shop the competition. At the time, Pierce Brosnan was still James Bond, and 007 was still wearing the Omega 2531.80.00. Admit it; this is one of the few modern Omega reference numbers that you remember. While the film franchise put the watch on Tim's radar, the quality of Omega's dive watch sealed the deal. With a bracelet that felt twice of the price of the Rolex and a design that was destined to become a classic, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M was Tim's big purchase with his high school graduation money. Yeah, he also bought a laptop, but that's junk these days, and the Omega is still in the collection.
Tim also spent time enjoying less heralded but equally fun watches. A 1998 Casio G-Shock was Tim's only watch through most of high school. The multifunction quartz digital Casio was a trusty companion for timing tests, classes, and summertime fun. Already a big part of Tim's life, this watch came out of retirement in 2009 when Tim shipped off to Navy boot camp, which makes it a genuine military-used watch - sort of! Tim also keeps a Swatch Blue Rebel and Sistem51 "Sistem Frog" given as holiday and birthday gifts by his mom.
Today, most of Tim's watches are mementos of his personal relationships with their creators. The Garrick S6 reflects Tim's high regard for Garrick Watchmakers of Norfolk, England. Already a supporter of H. Moser & Cie as far back as 2015, Tim was overjoyed to add a Pioneer Centre Seconds Cosmic Green in 2025.
When Tim auctioned his beloved Sinn EZM 1.1, Dan Royter of Brooklyn replaced it with a custom colored DR02 chronograph that became the prototype for Tim's first Facebook group watch. Armand Billard, who Tim met via podcast during the Covid years, co-developed Tim's SB04 custom edition -- the basis for Tim's second Facebook group watch. Chris Long of Singapore's Azimuth produced a fully engraved Mr. Roboto Bronzo Artist's Series for Tim and delivered it with a matching Mr. Roboto t-shirt.
Jackie Ho, founder of Hong Kong's laid-back "Watch Ho & Co." watch club put Tim on the delivery list for the limited edition Zentier Z6 jump hour based on the 1990s Audemars Piguet John Schaeffer minute repeaters. Of course, Tim loves pocket watches, and he maintains an Illinois Bunn 60-hour railroad grade pocket watch from the 1920s.
Tonight, Tim Mosso shares his entire collection of watches!
