Langepedia’s Alp Sever in partnership with WatchBox presents an eight-part video series on the history of A. Lange & Söhne. Sever has spent years researching and writing about all aspects of the German brand. In the first part of the series, Sever examines Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s beginnings in watchmaking and his eventual founding of a watchmaking institution. He looks into the Lange family’s tradition of watchmaking and their production of grand complications, tourbillons, and pocket watches, before taking a closer look at the fall of the company during World War II and its rebirth in 1990.
