The Omega Seamaster is the eternal rival to the Rolex Submariner, but it's more than that. Tim Mosso started his life as a watch collector with two Omega Seamasters: one from his grandpa, and a graduation watch. Tonight's show is all about the Omega Seamaster and how to collect its many variants.

Most watch collectors envision the Omega Seamaster as a dive watch, and there's a good reason for that: many Seamasters are divers. But the first Omega Seamaster debuted in 1948 as a water resistant dress watch. For decades, Omega watches with water resistant cases were classed as "Seamasters," and that includes the Omega De Ville owned by Tim's grandpa. Although Tim previously believed this watch to be a retirement gift, further investigation reveals an even more remarkable history; it was a reward for 25 years with the same employer. This "Seamaster De Ville" continues to function 52 years later thanks to a well-maintained Omega caliber 565 automatic.

The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M is the Seamaster many envision when they think of an Omega dive watch. This model, which rose to fame with James Bone in the 1990s, was launched first as a quartz model in 1993 and later as an automatic chronometer with the now iconic reference number 2531.80.00. With its unique bracelet links, "Omega wave" dial, skeleton hands, and distinctive helium gas escape valve, the Diver 300M became the first Seamaster dive watch to endure longterm in the catalog. While previous versions of the Seamaster Professional dive watches were redesigned every decade or so, the 1993 Diver 300M achieved sufficient fame that Omega has limited redesigns to detail updates rather than revolutionary redesigns.

Tonight's show is a celebration of the Omega Seamaster and an invitation to continue researching one of the luxury watch hobby's deepest and oldest model families.
