One of the best Pateks of the year, this reference is encased in 42mm of 18k rose gold surrounding a brown sunburst-black graduated dial on a black alligator strap.

The Features (0:53)
Flaunting hours, minutes, small seconds, day, date, month, annual calendar, day/night indicator, and a chronograph, this piece is robust and highly functional.

The Design (1:09)
This reference has a more prominent wrist presence compared to the previous ref. 5960. Additionally, it has a graceful lug profile that wears well at the edge of the wrist.

The Case & Bezel (1:43)
Simply put, it’s gorgeous. The pusher adjusters for the annual calendar are on the 9 o’clock side while the chronograph pushers and crown are located on the opposite end. Also worth noting, the concave bezel rolls all the way around the piece.

The Dial (2:02)
Best described as a sort of brown-bronze, this reference’s dial is truly beautiful and subtle. Effectively, it’s a sector and a gradient dial as it fades from a light brown bronze to almost black at its edge. The sector elements are all expressed in metallic tones rather than being a printed feature on the dial. Lastly, it is a lume watch.

The Movement (3:24)
Rolling the watch over, we have caliber CH28520 which was originally debuting on the Nautilus Chronograph in the ref. 5960 in 2006. It’s a unidirectional winder with high-efficiency ceramic rotor bearings, and has a 45- to 50-hour power reserve. This watch is rated to perform no worse than -3 and +2 seconds per day.
