The Ressence Type 5 (Type 5.1B) dive watch is the oil filled sports watch that Ressence watch fans have anticipated since the first Type 3 of 2013. Now 46mm and crafted from grade 5 titanium, the oil filled ROCS display has been upgraded with a unidirectional dive bezel, extra lume, and a case lock to prevent accidental movement of the Ressence dial.

The Ressence Type 1 and Type 3 were "sporty" and casual in design, but 1 ATM water resistance left them stranded high and dry. For 2017, Ressence launched the Type 5 dive watch with 100-meter water resistance. The oil provides incompressible support to the domed sapphire crystal from below, and the oil-filled dial allows the Ressence Type 5 to be viewed from any angle while submerged.

Ressence employs its signature Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS) to drive the regulator style dial. The planetary motion of hours, minutes, and seconds co-exist with an oil temperature display that permits monitoring of the watch's health in extreme conditions. A unidirectional dive bezel allows the watch buyer to align with the minute hand for timed dives.

The ROCS incorporates 142 parts and 16 jewels. It is manufactured by Ressence at its Swiss workshops; all design is performed at Ressence's headquarters in Antwerp, Belgium. The ROCS incorporates bellows that permit expansion and contraction of there 37.5ml of oil within the dial, and a magnetic coupling connects the complication module to the ETA 2824-2 automatic caliber base.

As with previous Ressence watches, no crown is featured, and the caseback permits both manual winding and setting of the Type 5. A new locking system has been incorporated to prevent inadvertent change to the time while the watch is in use for diving. Ressence calls this selectable mechanism the "Ressence Compression Lock System" (RCLS).

Ressence pairs the Type 5 dive watch with a textile velcro strap that incorporates inserts of black calf skin leather. The NATO style strap permits quick adjustments and comfort on the wrist.

This Ressence Type 5 is encased in 46mm of titanium surrounding a black dial on a black fabric strap. Functions include hours, minutes, runner and oil temperature gauge. The watch also measures 15.8mm in thickness and 51.5mm from lug-to-lug.
