This week on Market Wrap, Mike Manjos looks at the upcoming Sotheby’s auction and some pieces he’ll be keeping his eyes on. He also discusses some watches we brought in this week including the Panerai Luminor Base (PAM 10) with a white dial, the H. Moser & Cie Pioneer Centre Seconds in black DLC with a funky blue dial, and the Patek Philippe Complication World Time in platinum with a guilloche center.
The main topic of the show is looking forward to auction season where brands' values can rise or fall based off the results. F.P. Journe has a slate of watches including the Vagabondage II, Perpetual Tokyo Edition, and a brass movement Octa Reserve. What's of primary interest to him, however, is a neo-vintage Vacheron Constantin Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater. He speculates what effect the final selling price could have on the rest of the Vacheron Constantin market. He also touches on a visit from the Meylan brothers and what excites him most about the watch industry.
